You can now relax. You will be met on arrival and taken to your hotel in the old colonial city of Antigua.

After breakfast we waste no time in familiarizing ourselves with the Motorcycles Kawasaki KLR 650. We shall take a 2 hour ride to volcano Pacaya. This is a good introduction to the KLR but also it’s a great excursion that lets You climb one of the world most active
Volcanoes.

Preparation done bags and boxes loaded we are now ready for our first part of the Journey. After passing through the city of Guatemala we find the north bound highway for Rio Dulce. Soon after arrival we visit la Castillo de San Felipe.

Riding on great roads we continue towards Flores. We are now in the Peten, this northern part of Guatemala occupies a third of the country but has less than three percent of the population. We will take a short rest at Ixpanpajul nature reserve this will give you a good opportunity to view the rain forest from high above the forest floor.

Wakey, wakey! An early start today - 6.00am! Today the bikes will rest as you will be driven to the great Tikal by minibus after breakfast. Towering above much of the forest the Tikal is possibly the most magnificent of the Mayan ruins. Some 285 species of bird have been sighted in the Tikal alone. This is the heartland of the Mayan civilization which reached here from the highlands 2500 years ago. Mayan culture reached the height of its architectural, scientific, and artistic achievements during the "classic period" (300-900AD), when great cities rose from the forest

Back on the road for another early start as we have another full day of activities in front of us. On leaving Flores we have a short ride to Sayaxche. On arrival we check into our hotel and promptly get back out for a ride to la Ciebal a surreal Mayan site. After lunch in Sayaxche our Lancha Is waiting to take us down the Rio de Pasion ringed by dense rain forest and maybe a few Alligators. We arrive at the dirt shores of Aguateca, this is truly a magical place

Today we have some exceptional roads, with many of them being isolated mountainous back roads this day will be a blast. On our arrival at Lanquin you will have no doubt this is a overland bike tour.

The accommodation may be a little basic but the views are great. Today is about having some fun, and relaxing. If its adventure you want cave swimming is an option well worth considering. The pools of Semuc Champey are most excellent swimming trunks and sun cream are a must!

This is now a new road with some amazing views. We shall arrive in Coban for early afternoon which will give you time to explore this misty alpine capital.

Today is probably one of the longest days as we cut through the heart of Guatemala. This road is still under construction so the pace may be slow at times.

Chichcastenango mecca de turismo. This is market day at its best, thousand of stores spread out for as far as the eye can see. A paradise for any bargain hunter. At late morning we regroup and ride to Panajachel on the shores of Lake Atitlan

There are many things to do here at this lake from paragliding to horse riding, or you can take a Boat that will take you to many of the villages that surround the shores of this Awesome Lake.

Today we are heading for the coast of Monterrico. After several hours we arrive at one of the finest beaches on the pacific coast. Just have another drink and watch the sun sink, the bars and restaurants here serve excellent seafood… Buen provecho

After a morning swim and breakfast we say goodbye to Monterrico. A nice easy road back to Antigua for arrival around 1pm.
